The Association of Captain Mbaye Diagne for the Culture of Peace has the goal to promote the legacy of Captain Mbaye Diagne and by doing so, to promote a culture of peace and non-violence in Senegal and in the rest of the world.  For this purpose, the Association wishes to encourage altruist behavior and therefore, it aims at instituting the Captain Mbaye Diagne Altruism Awards.

Every year the Awards should go to people who distinguished themselves for their altruist attitude, in Senegal and in the word: women and men who helped others in various ways, often at their own risk and cost; in sum, inspiring people who resemble Captain Mbaye Diagne.
